St Francis of Assisi, humble and kind,
A saint whose love for all creatures did shine.
In Assisi's hills, you found your true call,
To serve the Lord and creatures, great and small.
With joy, you walked the path of poverty,
Embracing all, regardless of their plea.
Your love for nature, deep as ocean's tide,
In every leaf and bird, God did reside.
You preached to birds upon a sunny day,
A testament to love in every way.
The wolf of Gubbio, fierce and wild,
You tamed with gentle words, like a loving child.
St Francis, your devotion still inspires,
To love all living things, our hearts aspires.
