Lisa Erspamer's Letter to My Mom is the next installment of her "A Letter to ..." series. Past collections have honored dogs
and cats, but now it's mamas' time to shine. In A Letter to My Mom Erspamer offers a collection that is inspirational, hilarious, and even partially bittersweet.
The letters themselves are small. I read them a handful at a time in just a few short minutes. That makes A Letter to My Mom a collection that you can return to again and again. will.i.am's poem to his mom particularly stood out to me. But it was Melissa River's letter to her mom, Joan, that left me in stitches.
A Letter to My Mom is a lovely collection, perfect for a gift for mom -- especially since the inside front cover includes a place to write a letter for your own mom.
As with the other books in the series, this collection probably isn't one to read and reread, but it is a gift that demonstrates the importance of children sharing letters with mom. And despite all the diversity in the letters here, there are so many universal themes struck in A Letter to My Mom to make it the ideal gift.
