Augustine, Luther, Wesley, Barth -- all began with Romans. 

Bonhoeffer began with the Sermon on the Mount.

For Bonhoeffer, Jesus' commanding power is the heart of the Gospel.

That's why I read more Bonhoeffer than I do Barth.
